Meet Michael Wines, our new Head of Marketing. We talked to Michael about his first weeks in Byte, the importance of good culture, and what success really looks like. You recently join Byte. How did your first week go?
Great! Firstly it was a short week, which is always a nice way of easing into a new role. The people have been fantastic, really approachable, genuine, and driven. It was also lovely meeting colleagues face to face in the office. Those interactions have allowed for more genuine relationship development, and I could only imagine how hard it would have been starting remotely during the height of the pandemic. If you have to choose one thing that you are most passionate about in your day-to-day work, what it would be?I love driving culture and engaging people to deliver results. If you don't love the environment you're working in, you're never going to enjoy your job. For me, culture drives that enjoyment. The feel, the vibe, and the way an organisation's people help you succeed in your role makes work fun and fulfilling. If we can have a laugh along the way, then even better!
What does success look like to you?
Byte's success should be judged on our customer's wins. They want outstanding service and modern solutions to improve both user and their customers' experiences. If we can nail that, then customers will come back to Byte over and over again.
What is your all-time favourite movie?
I'm shortlisting American Beauty, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, the original Sat Wars trilogy and Superbad. The winner, however, is Anchor Man. You stay classy.
